Ghana joined six other African countries in officially hosting Champagne Day 2024 – a celebration of Moët & Chandon’s enduring legacy and savoir-faire.
Held within the striking rammed-earth architecture of Dot Ateliers, the evening unfolded as a symphony of design, storytelling, and sensory delight. Guests were greeted by elegant details that set the tone for an evening crafted in true Moët & Chandon style; one that celebrated creativity, collaboration, and craft.
The night opened with warmth, our host personally welcomed her guests, conversations flowed in an atmosphere designed to both delight and intrigue. Once all guests had arrived, i and the first toasts of the night were clinked, everyone was ushered towards the second phase of the night.
As the elevator doors opened into the candlelit studio, the heart of the experience revealed itself. A Ghanaian fusion dinner curated by Chef Mawuli Dzansi unfolded like a love letter to craftsmanship – plates of artistry paired with Moët & Chandon’s finest. The highlight of the evening: Aisha Ayensu’s breathtaking Épernay-inspired creation by her brand Christie Brown – an homage to Moët & Chandon’s timeless elegance and artistry.
The celebration concluded in a lounge where polaroids became keepsakes, violin swelled with familiar Afro-fusion melodies, and the champagne continued to flow. Dessert was served, laughter deepened, and guests let their hair – a perfect finale to an evening that honoured both craft and connection.
The quality of this production was a testament to a detailed brief from the Maison in France and an open, honest collaboration with Moët Hennessy’s experiences management team, led by Christopher Opara.
When it all comes together in moments like this, nothing beats the shared feeling after the last guest departs and the team exchanges quick high fives before the final debrief. We savour the victories.
