HENNESSY XO CARAFE ’25

On Cultural Positioning

A first impression, carefully orchestrated.

As Hennessy XO La Carafe prepared to make its debut in Ghana, the opportunity extended far beyond unveiling a new expression. It was the introduction of a global icon into a market where culture, influence, and experience shape perception just as much as the product itself.

Working alongside Imexco Ghana Ltd, Moët Hennessy and Paulus Dagbui, founder of Ace Night Club, ALOD developed the strategic direction for a launch that connected storytelling, nightlife, and hospitality into one cohesive narrative. Rather than introducing the product through a single moment, we designed an ecosystem where every touchpoint strengthened the next.

The World We Built

Every memorable launch begins before the first guest arrives.
Our proposal introduced audiences to the world of Paulus Dagbui, not simply as the face of the campaign, but as the cultural thread connecting Hennessy XO La Carafe to Accra’s luxury nightlife.
Through carefully considered storytelling, anticipation became part of the experience long before the bottle was revealed.

The Arrival

At the centre of the campaign was a cinematic hero film produced by ALOD in collaboration with a carefully assembled creative team led by Lace Up Media.
A Seat at Paulus’ Table became the narrative that invited audiences into Paulus’ world through moments of gathering, influence, and ritual. Rather than existing as a separate activation, the concept was woven into the film itself, creating a natural progression towards the product’s arrival at Ace Night Club – the only venue in Ghana selected to carry Hennessy XO La Carafe at launch.

The Reveal

The proposed nightclub experience extended the story beyond the screen.
Spatial interventions, a theatrical reveal & ritual, and cultural tastemakers were conceived as part of one connected launch ecosystem, ensuring that every interaction reinforced the product’s prestige and exclusivity.
Behind the scenes, ALOD assembled and coordinated the multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering the film, spatial experience, and proposed venue transformation, aligning specialist partners behind a single creative vision.

THE STATEGIST'S NOTE

The most successful launches don’t begin with a reveal.
They begin by giving people a reason to anticipate what’s coming.
When strategy, storytelling, and experience work together, a product enters the market with more than visibility, it arrives with meaning.
